THE FLAMENCOLOGY CENTER PRESENTS THE UNIVERSITY’S CONVENTION OF FLAMENCO DANCE

Marco Flores, holder of Spain’s National Dance Prize, will be the director.

This morning the fourth edition of the University Congress of Flamenco and Spanish Dance was presented, scheduled to be held in Murcia next July 21st to 25th, within the official program of the International Flamencology Center of the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) and the Cante de las Minas Foundation.

The Convention will have a first-class director, none other than dancer and choreographer Marco Flores, winner of Spain’s National Award for Flamenco Dance. who will be responsible for giving dance classes during the five days of the congress, which certainly will encourage the attendance of a large number of participants anxious to take advantage of his instruction.

Dance activities will be held in the morning, with practical workshops in choreography and the technique of flamenco dance for taranto, with lectures in the afternoon, visits and panel discussions on current issues in the world of Spanish dance.

The course was presented by the President of the Catholic University of Murcia, José Luis Mendoza, by the General Director of Universities of the Region of Murcia, Luis Javier Lozano, and by the Mayor of La Unión and Executive Chairman of the Cante de las Minas Foundation, Francisco Bernabé, as representatives of the organizational institutions of this activity, which is being developed in collaboration with the Conservatory of Dance in Murcia.

The venue for the Convention will be the UCAM Sports Center, located at the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM), and the registration period is open through July 4. Places are limited.
